As I am in Nashville, waiting for my flight to NYC, I just wanted to update everyone on the Louvin Film. Keith, myself, Brian, and Jacob just finished shooting b-roll for the film at The Louvin’s home in Wartrace, The Louvin Brothers Museum at The Smoke House in Monteagle, and at The Country Music Hall of Fame. I must say a big thanks to Mr. JD Oliver at The Smoke House for his hospitality and help. If you are ever in the area, I recommend you stop in. You can find their site here. We must also thank Mrs. Betty Louvin for letting us be in her space again as we finish up and also Mr. Mike Manning, Mr. Alan Stoker, Mr. Tim Davis, and Ms. Kelli Hix at The Hall of Fame for their help as well. We have one final interview at The Lexington Opera House on March 14th with the legendary Ms. Emmy Lou Harris and the principle photography will be complete!

I also want to thank my good friend Brad Nichols for letting us crash at his place and Brian Steege for lending us a vital piece of equipment that we could not have done this without.

This past Sunday Brian, Keith, and I attended Mr. Louvin's funeral in Nashville. It was a great tribute and celebration of his life. Eddie Stubbs from WSM/The Grand Ole Opry/The Marty Stuart Show read his eulogy, an old friend Wilford Ray shared some stories from the road, and unlike most funerals where the PA plays "Go Rest High On A Mountain," at Charlie's funeral Vince Gill was there and performed it while everyone sang along. It was truly a special day and experience worth sharing.
We have a couple of updates with the film. Todd is coming in to Cincinnati from Chicago from February 18-21 and we are all going to spend the weekend getting the film hopefully 80%-90% cut together. A trailer is in the works as well and we hope to have it to the world before our major editing weekend. And last, but not least, we have launched the official site at www.LouvinFilm.com
For now, there is not a lot on it, basically just a landing page, but it looks really good. Our friend Darren Crigler at Jalapi Media got it live for us. Some of the content we look to add is of course the trailer, the ability to pre-order the DVD, a link to donate to Charlie's family directly, and also a list of all you great people who have made this project so successful.

What better way to break out the New Year than with an EPK for one of my all time favorite bands, Lexington’s own, Sunday Valley. The release comes on the verge of the band’s CD Release Party January 15th in Lexington at Cosmic Charlie’s. You can also pick up the album, “To The Wind and On To Heaven” on the band’s site here. Check out the EPK on the right hand side of the page or in the “EPK” section of the site. And be on the look out as Puddin Howell, another local talent’s EPK will soon follow.
