Lexington’s Fifth on the Floor has hooked up with JuddFilms to work on an EPK for the latest album Dark and Bloody Grounds.
This past Sunday night we shot some live footage at The Green Lantern and will work on the interview and b-roll portion in the coming weeks in hopes to have something by the end of April at the latest.  Be sure to check them out.  Great band and good dudes.

Last night the amazing and legendary Ms. Emmylou Harris interviewed for Charlie Louvin:  Still Rattlin' The Devil's Cage.  Ms. Harris was performing for Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour at The Lexington Opera House in Lexington, Kentucky.  Thanks to the guys at Cineline for lending us some gear, Keith, Brian, and Kurt f
or their always amazing work, Bryan at Woodsongs for letting us come in and do the interview, and Ms. Harris and her crew, especially Kevin Spellman for being so great to work with.  Last week we also interviewed Charlie's son and shot some amazing b-roll at The Smoke House in Monteagle, Tennessee where The Louvin Brothers Museum is located.  We have to say a big thanks to JD Oliver at The Smoke House for his generous hospitality.  If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop in.  It was a bitter sweet night last night as this interview pretty much wraps shooting for the film. We have some really cool b-roll that will be captured in the coming weeks, but essentially the entire film is in the can.  We will keep you updated as thefull site, www.LouvinFilm.com, will go live soon with trailers and loads of visual stimulation as we look to premiere the movie upon its completion.  Thanks to everyone throughout the process.  It's been a great journey so far.

JuddFilms was lucky enough to spend last Tuesday and Wednesday in NYC at one of the world's most famous recording studios, The Magic Shop, with Shooter Jennings as he works on his new record.  Even thou
gh I cannot give a lot of detail, after hearing the entire album, I must say that this thing is going to be killer.  We were particularly focusing on an in studio EPK for the album along with capturing some stills that may be used as well.  I want to thank Keith Neltner for the good word, Jacob Ennis for going along to help, Matt and Sven at Cineline Productions for lending us some gear, the guys at The Magic Shop for their hospitality and especially Shooter and his bandmates for letting us be apart of the process and being so generous.

This album...be ready.

As I am in Nashville, waiting for my flight to NYC, I just wanted to update everyone on the Louvin Film.  Keith, myself, Brian, and Jacob just finished shooting b-roll for the film at The Louvin’s home in Wartrace, The Louvin Brothers Museum at The Smoke House in Monteagle, and at The Country Music Hall of Fame.  I must say a big thanks to Mr. JD Oliver at The Smoke House for his hospitality and help.  If you are ever in the area, I recommend you stop in.  You can find their site here.  We must also thank Mrs. Betty Louvin for letting us be in her space again as we finish up and also Mr. Mike Manning, Mr. Alan Stoker, Mr. Tim Davis, and Ms. Kelli Hix at The Hall of Fame for their help as well.  We have one final interview at The Lexington Opera House on March 14th with the legendary Ms. Emmy Lou Harris and the principle photography will be complete!

We just returned from Nashville where we were in studio with The GD Gallows as they work on their new record "7 Devils" w
ith producer/Hank III steel man Andy Gibson.  The shoot was great and I must thank the guys and Andy for letting Jacob and I come in and do our thing.  I also want to thank Darren at Farmageddon Records for letting us work on this project.  As the band comes through Lexington in May we'll finish up the EPK with some live footage and get this together well before the album's release mid-late summer.

I also want to thank my good friend Brad Nichols for letting us crash at his place and Brian Steege for lending us a vital piece of equipment that we could not have done this without.

This past Sunday Brian, Keith, and I attended Mr. Louvin's funeral in Nashville. It was a great tribute and celebration of his life. Eddie Stubbs from WSM/The Grand Ole Opry/The Marty Stuart Show read his eulogy, an old friend Wilford Ray shared some stories from the road, and unlike most funerals where the PA plays "Go Rest High On A Mountain," at Charlie's funeral Vince Gill was there and performed it while everyone sang along. It was truly a special day and experience worth sharing.

We have a couple of updates with the film. Todd is coming in to Cincinnati from Chicago from February 18-21 and we are all going to spend the weekend getting the film hopefully 80%-90% cut together. A trailer is in the works as well and we hope to have it to the world before our major editing weekend. And last, but not least, we have launched the official site at www.LouvinFilm.com

For now, there is not a lot on it, basically just a landing page, but it looks really good. Our friend Darren Crigler at Jalapi Media got it live for us. Some of the content we look to add is of course the trailer, the ability to pre-order the DVD, a link to donate to Charlie's family directly, and also a list of all you great people who have made this project so successful.

This morning around 1A Mr. Charlie Louvin passed away.  Charlie was 83 years old and passed in the comfort of his own home in Wartrace, Tennessee.  Our condolences go out to his wife Betty, his entire family, friends, and millions of fans around the world.

The Charlie Louvin film crew spent some time in Nashville Jan. 20th talking w
ith Mr. George Jones at his home, on the set of The Marty Stuart Show with Marty Stuart, and John McCrea of Cake at the historic Ryman. They were gracious enough to be a part of our film, talk about some great history, personal moments on the road, and Louvin Brothers' impact on their music and their lives. The filming will wrap after a couple more surprise guest interviews and be moving into post production, targeting a spring release. Please check back often as we'll share how people can pre-order a copy and help Charlie out.

The “Pro One and Basic Center To Edge” aiming system DVD is complete and available for purchase.  Granted, though it is a very niched project, it is one that I am very proud to have been a part of and for our first instructional feature l
ength piece, turned out really well.  It was a pleasure working with Stan and Landon Shuffett and their hospitality was unmatched.  Stevie Moore was great and as always Mr. Todd Tue at Milk Products blew the doors off with his hard work both on the shoot and in the editing suite.  Even if you are not interested in the DVD itself, be sure to check out Stan (and Landon) on their site here.  Landon has appeared on Ellen, Letterman, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not just to name a few.  Great project to have been attached to.

What better way to break out the New Year than with an EPK for one of my all time favorite bands, Lexington’s own, Sunday Valley.  The release comes on the verge of the band’s CD Release Party January 15th in Lexington at Cosmic Charlie’s.  You can also pick up the album, “To The Wind and On To Heaven” on the band’s site here.  Check out the EPK on the right hand side of the page or in the “EPK” section of the site.  And be on the look out as Puddin Howell, another local talent’s EPK will soon follow.
